Our mission is to nurture the love and literacy of music in children and enhance their academic education. We accomplish this through the following programs:
Music Docent Training: Take a "vocal" role in music education for children! Our volunteers include parents, grandparents, college students, retired teachers, seniors, musicians and community members-at-large. Training for Music For Minors II docents takes place every fall.
Workshops: Workshops provide training in focused areas. A favorite of ours is the Jo-Ann Fread Dance Workshop and drumming workshops.
Showcase Concerts: MFMII produces "showcase" concerts at local colleges and other venues, providing our students a unique opportunity to perform on a professional stage. Showcase concerts enable children to perform for their peers, developing self-confidence and joy in music.
MFMII's Got Talent: MFMII's talent contest is open to all elementary aged children in the area. Prizes awarded to winners.
Community Concerts: MFMII organizes annual concerts featuring award-winning children's recording artists such as Charlotte Diamond and Red Grammer.
MFMII Kids Choir: MFMII started the MFMII kids choir in fall 2015.
MFMII Kinder Choir: Starting January 2025 for Kindergarteners.
Presentations: MFMII offers FREE presentations to MFMII schools including Family Music Nights, Taiko Drumming, Christina's Travel Stories, Blues in the Schools and Red, White & Blue. During the Covid-19 pandemic we started monthly, free Music & Movement for kids sessions (an hour of musical fun).
Preschool Music: Starting July 2021, MFMII is proud to sponsor a new preschool age distance learning and singalong program, featuring award-winning children's entertainers, LORI & RJ. The program is for children aged 2-6 years old.

Music is a magical gift we must nourish and cultivate in our children, especially now as scientific evidence proves that an education in the arts makes better math and science students, [and] enhances spatial intelligence in newborns - Michael Greene, Recording Academy President and CEO at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, Feb 2000 |
