A virtual inter-school talent hunt for young performers!
Music for Minors II (MFMII) proudly presents the fourth edition of MFMII’s Got Talent (MGT) – Season 4, an exciting inter-school virtual talent competition designed to celebrate creativity, confidence, and musical excellence among elementary school students.
This much-loved annual event gives young performers the opportunity to shine by showcasing their talents in singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument, all from the comfort of their own homes.
Who can participate?
The contest is open to students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through Grade 5 from schools located in:
Performance Categories
Participants may showcase one or more of the following talents:
Parents are encouraged to be the first judges; guiding, coaching, and motivating their children throughout the process.
Entry details & submission guidelines
Submit the YouTube link via the appropriate entry form
Important: Each category requires a separate entry form and fee.
If multiple entries are submitted for the same category, only the latest submission will be considered.

- Newark
- Milpitas
- Castro Valley
- Individually, or
- As a small group of 2–6 participants
Performance Categories
Participants may showcase one or more of the following talents:
- Singing
- Dancing
- Instrumental Performance
Parents are encouraged to be the first judges; guiding, coaching, and motivating their children throughout the process.
Entry details & submission guidelines
- Participation Fee: $15 per student per category
(Applies to individual and group performances) - Video Length: Maximum of 120 seconds (2 minutes) per entry
- Submission Deadline:
Sunday, February 1, 2026
11:59 PM (PST) - Submission Format:
Submit the YouTube link via the appropriate entry form
Important: Each category requires a separate entry form and fee.
If multiple entries are submitted for the same category, only the latest submission will be considered.
Individual Performers
- Complete the Individual Entry Form
- Submit the YouTube video link of the performance
- Pay the $15 participation fee per student, per category
Small Group Performers (2-6 students)
- One parent/guardian completes the Group Entry Form on behalf of the group
- Submit a single YouTube video link for the group performance
- Pay the $15 participation fee per student, per category
Judging, Awards & Recognition
- A distinguished jury panel of veteran docents and trained musicians and performers will review all eligible submissions.
- All participants will receive a Participation Certificate.
- Top winners in each category will receive awards.

Congratulations to all our MGT participants and winners of the MFMII's third edition of the inter-school virtual talent hunt, MFMII’s Got Talent (MGT) - Season 3. MFMII received over 100 entries again this year.
Students from grades TK to Grade 5 sent in their videos of them singing, dancing and playing instruments - individual and group.
Judges have now reviewed the videos. All submissions were available for public voting from March 14-21, 2025. Participants were encouraged to share the link with friends and family. The winners of the popular contest were announced during the MGT Concert 2025.
Select contestants were invited to perform at the annual MFMII Got Talent Concert and Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 6.30 PM, at John Gomes Elementary School, Fremont. What a show! Videos and photos coming soon.
MFMII‘s Got Talent (MGT) Concert showcased the talents of top contenders of MFMII's Got Talent contest, MFMII Kids Choir, our newly formed Kinder Choir and the Sing With Bella Ensemble. Additionally, the event featured award-winning family entertainers Lori & RJ. During the concert, we announced the MGT contest winners and honored them with well-deserved awards.
Congratulations to our lucky audience members who won musical instruments in the prize drawing too. Shweta K won the taiko drum and lessons donated by Wadaiko Taiko in Newark and Kumarasamy P won a 1/4 size guitar that was donated by Shane Sharkey of Castro Valley School of Music.

The judging for MGT took place on March 11 by our esteemed judges: Barry Walter (musician and school presenter), Lori Moitie (MFMII Board President and children's entertainer), Kathy Kimberlin (President, Fremont Education Foundation) and Sharon Filippi (MFMII Administrative Assistant). The judges really had their work cut out for them this year!
Awards and prizes were given to top winners in each category! Winners were announced at MFMII's Children's Showcase Concert on April 28. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and watched the concert live. It was quite a wonderful experience and we hope you enjoyed the show. All winners of the talent hunt, popular poll and trivia questions were contacted by our event coordinator on how to pick up their awards/prizes.

“You’ll need a seatbelt to keep from bouncing to the Multi-Award-Winning Music of Lori & RJ.” As former Cartoon Hosts we have been honored to receive two Bay Area Emmy Awards for our TV work with KTVU Fox Kids and WB20 Kids.
Lori & RJ are professional musicians with over 30 years of being experts in family entertainment. It’s all about the singing, dancing, comedy, musical instruments, the show content, and giving everyone an experience filled with positive vibrations and good messages. We are of service bringing joyful and healing music to the Children’s Hospitals and other institutions. We’re all about ‘health and wellness’ through ‘music and fun!’ We are also Drama Coaches that have been directing and producing our original, musical, theatrical productions for Homeschooler’s, for over 20 years. |
Charlotte Diamond |
Charlotte Diamond is an award-winning, Canadian children’s entertainer, songwriter and friend of MFMII. She has been the headliner for many MFMII concerts and workshops in the past. Her music, as well as being lively and singable, inspires children to care for each other and to celebrate the diversity of our cultural mosaic with songs like “Leave the World a Little Better.” She is best known for favorites like: Four Hugs a Day, I am a Pizza (Je suis une pizza, Soy una Pizza) and Octopus (Slippery Fish). Charlotte’s concerts are fun for kids, but parents and grandparents will be captivated by her music as well. |

The Music for Minors II Kids Choir is composed of talented 1st-6th grade students from multiple schools in the east bay area. The choir has been singing their hearts out since October 2015, under the capable directorship of Mrs. Lydia Concepcion, a talented musician who has a flair for showmanship. Lydia is also a private piano/vocal teacher and a former MFMII docent. The choir will continue in the fall and will be open for new members.
